Capacity Under Pressure

A half-day workshop that builds the nervous system capacity your leaders need to stay adaptable, strategic, and clear as your organization scales.

The pace of change in tech, the pressure to move fast, and the constant uncertainty your leaders operate under all demand the same thing: adaptability, agility, and sharp strategic thinking, sustained over time, not just in a good quarter. All three are capped by one factor that rarely gets named directly: a leader's capacity to regulate their own nervous system under pressure.

When a leader is operating on adrenaline, that state flows straight into their decisions, their meetings, and every person reporting to them. Most companies try to solve this with another communication framework or a wellness perk that gets used twice and forgotten. This workshop builds the capacity itself, directly, so the people setting the tone for your organization aren't running on empty while they do it.

What This Workshop Covers

The content is tailored to the specific challenges and goals your leaders face. But generally, here's what we cover.

Understanding Your Nervous System at Work

Most leaders have never been taught to notice their own nervous system state until it's already off the rails: the snapped response in a meeting, the afternoon crash, the third coffee that doesn't actually help. This section builds that awareness before you're in the middle of it.

  • How activation and deactivation show up across a normal workday, not just in a crisis. What it feels like when you're wired versus when you're checked out, and everything in between.

  • Recognizing your own energy states in real time. Not "I'm stressed" or "I'm tired," but what's actually happening in your body right now, specific enough that you can act on it.

  • When and where to intervene. The difference between pushing through, checking out, and actually resetting, and how to tell which one you're doing before it costs you a decision or a relationship.

Mechanisms for Building Nervous System Capacity

This is the practical core of the workshop: the specific tools your leaders will practice, not just hear about.

  • Somatic orienting. Anchoring your attention in the present moment through your senses, so you can pull yourself out of a spiraling thought or a reactive state.

  • Grounding. Settling the body's activation before you respond to what's in front of you, so your reaction comes from clarity instead of adrenaline.

  • Tracking. Noticing your own state shift as it's happening, not after the fact, so you can catch yourself before you snap, shut down, or check out.

  • Breathwork. Specific breathing patterns that directly shift your nervous system state, usable in the middle of a meeting without anyone noticing.

  • Yoga and movement. Physical practice that works the same nervous system pathways from the body up, not just the mind down.

What Your Leaders Walk Away With

  • Sharper decision-making under pressure, which means fewer reactive calls that ripple down and create rework for their teams

  • The ability to lead from capacity instead of depletion, so the tone they set in meetings and one-on-ones is clarity, not adrenaline

  • A team that performs at a higher, more sustainable level, because a regulated leader stops passing their own dysregulation down the chain

  • A practical model their teams can see and follow, since leaders who visibly manage their own capacity give their people permission to do the same

  • A custom practice manual built from the workshop, so the capacity holds up long after the session ends

About your coach, Carrie

I spent a decade inside high-pressure corporate environments, including two roles as Chief of Staff, while training as a yoga and somatic coach. I know what a demanding role actually asks of a person's body and nervous system, because I lived it. This isn't outside wellness programming bolted onto your culture. It's built by someone who ran in the same rooms your team runs in.

I've sat in the exec syncs, run the offsites, and carried the calendar for leaders who couldn't afford to be anything less than sharp. That's the world I bring into every session. I'm not walking in as a wellness vendor who's read about corporate pressure. I've managed it from the inside, and I built this work specifically for people operating under that kind of load.

I’m a certified yoga and somatic coach trained in trauma-informed movement, and I've spoken and contributed for organizations including Chief of Staff Network, Ask a Chief of Staff, and ProductLed. My approach blends that operator background with the somatic and nervous system training, so the sessions hold up in a room full of people who are skeptical of anything that feels like wellness for wellness's sake.
